Osmund Saddler’s final battle is a gritty, rain-soaked clash at dusk. He faces his lifelong rival, both of them battered and short on ammunition, in the ruins of an old factory. No dramatic speeches—just tired men settling an old score with fists and whatever bullets remain. The air smells of rust and gunpowder, and the only witness is a stray dog that bolts as the first shot rings out.
